Desi-Style Fried Rice Recipe English / Urdu

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups basmati rice, cooked
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large tomato, chopped
  • 1 green chili, chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn)
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp cilantro, chopped
  • 3 tbsp ghee or oil

Instructions:

  1. In a large saucepan, heat the ghee or oil over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.
  2. Add the onion, green chili, and garlic, and cook until the onion is golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add the ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and garam masala, and cook for another minute.
  4. Add the chopped tomato and cook until it is soft and mushy, about 5 minutes.
  5. Add the frozen mixed vegetables, salt, and lemon juice. Cook until the vegetables are tender, about 5-7 minutes.
  6. Stir in the cooked rice and mix well, making sure the rice is evenly coated with the spices and vegetables.
  7. Cook the rice mixture, stirring occasionally, until the flavors have blended together and the rice is heated through, about 5-7 minutes.
  8. Remove the pan from heat and sprinkle with chopped cilantro. Serve hot.
