TEA CAKE

Ingredients:

  • Butter – 100 g / 4 oz / 7 tbsp
  • Brown sugar – 100 g / 4 oz / 8 tbsp (packed)
  • Eggs – 2 (medium)
  • Flour (all-purpose or cake flour) – 100 g / 4 oz / 8 tbsp (leveled)
  • Cake spice or cake mix powder – 3–4 g / 1 tsp
  • Baking powder – 2 g / ½ tsp
  • Golden syrup – 7 g / 0.25 oz / 1 tsp
  • Vanilla essence – 5 ml / 1 tsp
  • Ashrafi & Kishmish (Tutti frutti & raisins) – 15 g / 0.5 oz / 1 tbsp

For Trickle (Simple Syrup):

  • Sugar – 12–15 g / 0.5 oz / 1 tbsp
  • Water – 45 ml / 1.5 oz / 3 tbsp
