Beef Malai Kofta

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons cream
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • Salt, to taste
  • Oil, for frying

FOR THE GRAVY:

  • 2 medium-sized onions, chopped
  • 2 medium-sized tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 green chilies, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1/2 cup water

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, minced onion, minced garlic, grated ginger, cream, garam masala, coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric, and salt. Mix well.
  2. Form the mixture into small meatballs.
  3. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and fry the meatballs until golden brown on all sides. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, add chopped onions and sauté until translucent.
  5. Add the chopped tomatoes, ginger-garlic paste, chopped green chilies, coriander powder, garam masala, turmeric, and salt. Cook for 5 minutes or until the tomatoes have broken down.
  6. Add 1/2 cup water and stir.
  7. Add the fried meatballs to the pan and simmer for 10 minutes.
